Convenient Therapy Options

At Clarity Speech and Language, we offer flexible therapy options to meet your needs.
You can choose between in-person sessions at our North Utah location or online sessions from the comfort of your own home.

For pediatric sessions, a parent or caregiver must be present during therapy—whether in-person or online. Your involvement is key to helping your child practice skills, reinforce strategies, and make faster progress between sessions.

Online therapy offers the same high-quality, personalized care—with the added convenience of attending from your home, your office, or even while traveling.

No matter where you are, we’re here to help you or your child communicate with clarity and confidence.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I teach my child myself without the help of an SLP?

When to Seek Professional Support

If your child is highly unintelligible or not making steady progress, we strongly recommend consulting with a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) for a full evaluation and professional therapy.

In addition to one-on-one services, Clarity Speech and Language offers online videos designed to help parents improve their child’s speech skills more quickly and achieve stronger, lasting results.

How long will my child need speech therapy?

How Long Will My Child Need Speech Therapy?

The length of speech therapy varies for each child and depends on several factors, including your child’s age, the severity of the speech errors, motivation to learn, and consistency of practice at home.

Some children may make significant progress in as little as three months, while others may benefit from ongoing support for several years. Every child’s journey is unique, and we’ll work closely with you to set goals, track progress, and adjust the plan as needed.

How old does my child have to be to start working on speech therapy?

Building Speech Skills from the Start

Speech and language development begins the moment your child is born! Early on, you can support growth by modeling speech sounds, talking frequently, and encouraging all attempts at communication.

As your child grows and is able to sit still, listen, and watch your instructions, more structured teaching can begin. For very young children, speech practice sessions are kept short and playful, and therapy often focuses on teaching you strategies to support your child’s communication at home.

Early involvement makes a big difference—and we’re here to guide you every step of the way!

Do you teach adults?

Yes! We offer speech therapy for adults, including support for speech sound production, language skills, and stuttering. We also provide accent modification coaching for those who want to improve clarity and confidence in their communication.

Do you take insurance?

Insurance and Payment Details

We don’t bill insurance directly, but we make it easy for you! Each month, you’ll receive a superbill—a detailed statement with everything you need to submit a claim to your insurance company or HSA provider.

Speech therapy sessions typically qualify as eligible expenses for Health Savings Accounts (HSA), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), and Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRA). You can use your HSA, FSA, or HRA card to pay directly.

Just a heads-up: Accent modification coaching is a non-medical service and isn’t covered by insurance or eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement.

If you have any questions about payment or using a superbill, we’re happy to help!

My child is struggling with reading. Can you help?

Speech-language pathologist (SLPs) are uniquely trained to help with reading skills by teaching phoneme awareness skills — rhyming, matching letters to sounds, phoneme manipulation, and spelling rules.

In addition, SLPs work with students on vocabulary (understanding word meanings), language comprehension (understanding sentences and stories), and oral narrative skills (telling coherent stories). By strengthening these core language skills, SLPs support both decoding (sounding out words) and comprehension (understanding what is read), which are critical for successful reading.

For students who struggle with reading, phonemic awareness training led by an SLP can bridge critical gaps in early literacy development. By strengthening the brain’s ability to recognize and process sounds, SLPs help build the strong language foundation needed for confident, successful reading.

If your child needs reading support, early intervention with an SLP focusing on phonemic awareness can make a lasting difference.

I’ve been providing therapy to children and adults since 2011. I adapt a variety of therapy techniques to best suit the student’s needs and personality. I believe that lots of practice and a little bit of humor are the keys to speech and language improvement. Also, I’ve learned that parent support is crucial for a child to succeed!

I was born on an island, grew up in the desert, and now live by the mountains. My awesome husband and I enjoy e-biking and music, and hanging out with the kids and grandkids. In my spare time, I enjoy photography, reading, walking and creating courses for parents. I also love to eat peanut m&m’s and binge-watch Netflix. What can I say? I’m human!

We have had a really good experience with Clarity Speech and Language.

We used Clarity Speech & Language with Carol. Both of my kids needed help with their ‘Rs’, they also were in speech therapy at school. I feel that if we hadn’t done speech with Carol they wouldn’t have progressed as quickly as with just doing speech at school. Carol also caught my sons struggle with saying his ‘Ls’ and his previous therapist didn’t catch that or the school therapist. I really liked how Carol had my kids practice telling their own stories with their Rs to help them talk in real life conversations rather than just speech language homework. She is very good at paying attention to the little things in their speech and being picky (in a good way) to make sure their speech sounds natural and clear. I would highly recommend Carol! Thank you Carol for the work you have done with my children.

There are also many tips and tricks to creatively practice speech with your children in informal settings and for spur of the moment opportunities. I’ve learned so much. This last week I was able to use many of these ideas with three of my grandchildren who were visiting. It was exciting for me (and them!) to see real progress!

Carol is warm and kind-highly recommend her!
